A Qawariya bought caught within the rapids of river Ganga in Haridwar and was rescued by marine police and SDRF personnel stationed on the ghats.
Pawan Kumar, 29, a local of Haryana, was taking a shower in a river in Kangra Ghat on Tuesday when he immediately discovered himself caught within the robust present and began drowning.
Water police divers Vikrant and Sunny Kumar jumped into the river as quickly as they noticed him being swept away. They had been assisted by SDRF personnel Shubham and Asif Ali to rescue Pawan Kumar safely.
In Haridwar, the rising Kanwar Mela has led to extra incidents of Kanwariyas being sucked into the Ganges as a result of negligence in bathing.
