
The Houston Astros positioned outfielder Chas McCormick on the 10-day injured record Thursday with a minor fracture of his proper hand.
The transfer dates again to Wednesday, sooner or later after McCormick was injured when he hit the right-field wall whereas chasing a foul ball throughout Houston’s 4-3 loss to the Oakland Athletics.
“It is actually disappointing,” stated McCormick, who returned briefly from the minor leagues earlier this month. “I simply wish to be on the market making an attempt to assist the group win, particularly on the finish of the season and going into the playoffs. General, it has been a disappointing season, not what I hoped for as a result of I have been feeling good.
McCormick, 29, is batting .211 with 5 house runs and 27 RBIs in 94 video games this season.
Additionally on Thursday, the Astros recalled infielder Grey Kessinger and left-hander Brian King from Sugar Land and despatched right-hander Nick Hernandez to Triple-A.
The 27-year-old Kessinger has performed in 15 video games for the Astros this season, going 0-for-15 with 5 strikeouts.
King, 27, made 23 appearances for Houston in 2024, going 1-0 with a 2.05 ERA.
