Assam Chief Minister Himant Biswa Sarma on Wednesday claimed that the state’s Muslim inhabitants has now risen to 40 per cent, calling demographic change a “huge drawback” within the northeastern state ”.
Sarma, who can also be the BJP’s co-incharge for the Jharkhand elections, made the remarks on the sidelines of a celebration assembly right here.
“I’m from Assam and demographic change is a giant difficulty for me. The Muslim inhabitants in my state is now 40%, in comparison with 12% in 1951.
Earlier, whereas addressing get together staff, he claimed that the variety of Bangladeshi infiltrators was rising within the tribal areas of Jharkhand.
He mentioned the BJP will embrace a powerful motion plan towards infiltrators in its manifesto for the upcoming Jharkhand Meeting elections.
In a scathing assault on Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Sarma accused him of turning Jharkhand into “mini Bangladesh”.
“Infiltrators come to Jharkhand and marry tribal women to grab their land. I enchantment to Jharkhand to enact a legislation stating that tribal women can’t marry infiltrators,” he mentioned.
He additionally claimed that there was no progress through the rule of the JMM-led alliance authorities.
