Junior docs and medical college students of AIIMS Hospital in Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh, on Saturday staged a protest in opposition to the rape-murder incident at RG Kar Medical Faculty and Hospital in Kolkata.
The incident triggered widespread outrage, with docs and nurses staging protests in Kolkata and throughout the nation, demanding the loss of life penalty for the accused and measures to enhance physician security.
Sanjoy Roy, a citizen volunteer with hyperlinks to the Kolkata Police, was arrested in reference to the incident.
The Calcutta Excessive Courtroom has handed over the case to the CBI for additional investigation.
