The Supreme Courtroom on Tuesday agreed to listen to AAP chief Manish Sisodia’s plea in search of bail in a corruption and cash laundering case associated to the alleged Delhi excise coverage rip-off.
A bench headed by Justice BR Gavai sought response from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Sisodia’s plea and glued the matter for listening to on July 29.
The bench, additionally comprising Justice Sanjay Carroll and Justice Ok V Viswanathan, was listening to Sisodia’s plea in search of bail and restoration of his petition in a corruption and cash laundering case associated to the GST coverage Apply.
Sisodia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 26, 2023 for his alleged involvement within the liquor coverage case. The ED arrested him on March 9, 2023, in a cash laundering case initiated by a CBI FIR.
He resigned from the Delhi Cupboard on February 28 final 12 months.
The matter pertains to alleged corruption and cash laundering by the Delhi authorities in formulating and implementing the GST coverage for 2021-22, which has now been repealed.
