The Nationals acquired minor league right-hander Tyler Stewart within the commerce.
Wenk performed in Washington’s 14-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday when information of the commerce surfaced. He went 2-for-3 with an RBI within the sixth inning.
In 101 video games with Washington this season, Wenk hit .257 with 11 residence runs and 45 RBIs.
Wink, 30, has appeared in 711 profession video games with the Cincinnati Reds (2017-21), Seattle Mariners (2022), Milwaukee Brewers (2023) and Nationals (2024). In eight main league seasons, he batted .263 with 92 residence runs and 311 RBIs.
Stewart, 24, has began 17 video games this season for Double-A Binghamton and is 3-7 with a 3.96 ERA. He struck out 90 in 84 innings.
New York (55-49) enters Sunday holding the Nationwide League’s third and remaining wild-card spot, trailing the Arizona Diamondbacks by only a half-game. The Mets have received six of 9 video games for the reason that All-Star break.
Washington (49-56) trails New York by 6 1/2 video games within the wild-card race.
