The New Orleans Saints introduced Friday the signing of extensive receiver Samson Nakua, the older brother of Los Angeles Rams star Puka Nakua.
To make room for Nacua, the Saints terminated the contract of their No. 4 quarterback, Nathan Peterman, in coaching camp.
Nacua, 26, performed faculty soccer at Utah (2017-20) and BYU (2021), catching 103 passes for 1,344 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Nacua performed in two video games for the USFL’s Pittsburgh Maurers final season with the UFL’s Michigan Panthers in 2023, catching 11 passes for 125 yards.
Nacua has by no means performed within the NFL, though he was signed by the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and took part within the workforce’s coaching camp that 12 months.
Nacua joins one other new extensive receiver, Max Callaway, who signed with the Saints on Thursday. New Orleans is coping with accidents to receivers Cedric Wilson (groin), Equinemus St. Brown (hamstring) and Barb Means (shin).
