South Africa’s former finance minister Pravin Gordhan has died on the age of 75, his household has stated.
The anti-apartheid veteran has been concerned in politics since South Africa’s transition to democracy in 1994.
He held a strategic place in South Africa’s authorities till saying his retirement from politics in Might.
The veteran cupboard minister died in hospital early on Friday after a “brief and brave battle with most cancers,” his household stated in an announcement.
The assertion added that when he died early this morning, “he was surrounded by his household, closest associates and lifelong comrades within the liberation battle”.
He’s survived by his spouse Vanitha and daughters Anisha and Priyesha.
