
The College of Houston introduced Saturday the hiring of former College of New Mexico Eddie Nunez as athletic director.
The college introduced Nunez’s five-year contract, which incorporates the title of vice chairman of intercollegiate athletics. Vice chairman is the title he holds at Lobos following his promotion in 2021.
Nunez shall be formally launched Wednesday at a information convention in Houston.

Nunez has served as New Mexico State’s athletic director since 2017, overseeing the varsity’s athletic packages in 22 Mountain West Convention championships and 53 NCAA championships.
Previous to that, Nunez spent 14 years with LSU’s athletic division, serving to drive facility renovations and multimedia negotiations.
Nunez was born in Miami, Florida and performed faculty basketball for the College of Florida beneath Billy Donovan, showing in 13 video games over two seasons (1996-98).
The Cougars’ former athletic director was Chris Pezman, whom the varsity parted methods with in June.
